ALICJA BIAŁA
author of the work

Visual and graphic artist, designer. She graduated from Via University College and The Copenhagen School of Design and Technology in Denmark. She is currently studying at The Royal College of Art in London. Her works have been published for example in Denmark, Poland, China and Australia. She is also the designer of murals that can be found in for example Poland, Portugal, USA, Mexico and Germany - where one of her latest works was created in Kassel as part of the fourteenth edition of Documenta, contemporary art exhibition. She cooperates with the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków. Latest group exhibitions include the Uwikłani w tekst [ang. Caught Up in Words] exhibition in Olimpia Gallery (in Kraków) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of regaining independence. Along with the poet Marcin Świetlicki under the aegis of Wydawnictwo Wolno she is a co-author of the book Polska [ang. Poland] (a compilation of patriotic songs). Her latest solo exhibitions took place in SBCAST in Santa Barbara, USA, Mute Gallery in Lisbon, Galeria Ego in Poznań or Leica Gallery in Warsaw. At the end of last year her works could be seen during a solo exhibition Wycinanki polskie/Polish Cut-outs organised in Muzeum Sztuki Współczesnej [ang. Museum of Contemporary Art] in Kraków (MOCAK). Her works are part of the museum's collection as well as a part of many private collections in Poland and abroad. She is a scholar of the City of Poznań, Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region, Fundusz Stypendialny Talenty [ang. Scholarship Funds Talents] and Fundacja Berek [ang. Tag chase Foundation].

cooperation: concept, project

Winner of the prestigious award YTAA2016 for Best Diploma Project in architecture, urban planning and landscape design in Europe in the years 2015-2016 awarded by The Fundació Mies van der Rohe and winner of EAAE Prize awarded by the European Committee for Architectural Medals. In 2017 he was proclaimed as one of "20 young designers who will shape the future of the design in the world" by Design Indaba, World Design Events and Dutch Design Week. He received his undergraduate degree in Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Arts in Poznań. After that he continued his education at the Faculty of International Master of Architecture and Sustainable Development at KU Leuven in Belgium where he graduated and was awarded the dean's distinction. He has given lectures and published his papers at PURAL conference in San Francisco, Dutch Design Week in 2017, NED CURP2017 in Karaczi, Design Indaba in 2018 in Cape Town or INDESEM in Delft.
